Ryan O’Rourke, PhD

Scientific co-founder

Ryan completed his Ph.D. in Alvin Huang’s lab at Brown University where he discovered a novel cellular mechanism of Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis, and designed an oligonucleotide-based therapeutic targeting this pathway. He simultaneously completed a master’s degree in innovation management and entrepreneurship (PRIME) through Brown’s School of Engineering which he is utilizing to develop this technology.

Alvin Huang, MD, PhD

Alvin completed his M.D. and specialized neurology residency in neurodegenerative disorders at National Taiwan University and subsequently earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He became interested in translational research while completing his postdoctoral work in the lab of 2013 Nobel laureate, Dr. Thomas Südhof, at Stanford University. He has been serving as the GLF Translational Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry at Brown University since 2019.
